About Me
I’m a hard working and professional individual, who has learned to persevere, keep my eyes on the prize and maintain my cool under pressure.
In 2014 I was fortunate enough to be accepted by the highest rated university in South Africa and rest of Africa, the University of the Witwatersrand (“WITS”) to study Sign Language (which is English based). I did not have any previous experience with sign language, but I felt it was a perfect combination of my love for languages, communication and teaching. To gain practical teaching experience and most importantly immerse myself in Sign Language, I volunteered as a teacher’s assistant for Grades 4 to 6 (ages 9 to 10 years) at the Ekurhuleni School for the Deaf for two years.
